Enid (ē`nĭd), city (1990 pop. 45,309), seat of Garfield co., N central Okla.; inc. 1893. It is an important trade and processing center for an area rich in wheat, dairy cattle, poultry, and oil. There are flour mills, food-processing plants, and many oil-related industries in the city. The Museum of the Cherokee Strip Cherokee Strip or Cherokee Outlet, a narrow piece of land in N Oklahoma. Bounded on the north by the Kansas border, it has an area of more than 6 million acres (2.4 million hectares).
