In Muzaffarabad, Pakistan, an outbreak of acute watery diarrhea occurred in an unplanned, poorly equipped camp of 1,800 persons after the 2005 earthquake. However, in the areas of Muzaffarabad and Balakot the devastation was astonishing. Areas where damage was especially severe, such as in the town of Balakot and the northern hamlets of Muzaffarabad, were either just on the surface fault, or very close to it. |
