The notoriously slow-moving Constitutional Tribunal is currently pondering a protest by the People's Party against the use of the word 'marriage" (although, after seeing the popular support for marriage equality, the party downgraded its objection to just the name, as it now officially supports equal rights and benefits for same-sex couples).
Musharraf is expected to sign the bill--which former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's People's Party also has backed--but right-wing political unrest is likely to continue.
Also attending were leaders of openly Marxist-Leninist terror groups such as the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the Kurdish People's Party, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command.
