Priština or Prishtina (both: prē`shtĭnä), city (1991 pop. 155,449), S Serbia. It is the chief city and capital of Kosovo Kosovo Field, Serbo-Croatian Kosovo Polje [field of the black birds], the Turks under Sultan Murad I defeated Serbia and its Bosnian, Montenegrin, Bulgarian, and other allies in 1389. .....
