IRVING, Texas -- Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) announced today that its subsidiary, Esso Exploration International Limited, and Mitra Energy Limited (MEL) have entered into an agreement to explore for hydrocarbons in the deepwater Sandakan Basin southwest of the Philippine Islands. They will also have direct freighter flights to Transmile's air and ground cargo complex at Kuala Lumpur's Subang Airport for on-line service to India, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, Singapore, as well as Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Miri Tawau, and Sandakan in Malaysia. The Malaysian firm now has 43 partners and approximately 1500 staff, located across 11 offices in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Ipoh, Johor Baru, Malacca, Kuantan, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau & Labuan. |
