Vineland, city (1990 pop. 54,780), Cumberland co., S N.J., in a poultry and fruit area; settled 1861, inc. 1952 when combined with Landis township. The growing city has cooperative markets, large glassworks (with offices designed by William Lescaze), and food-processing and clothing industries. The city has a highly respected state school for retarded children, a home for retarded women, and a home for disabled veterans and their wives or widows. |

Developer Vineland Investors LLC will build a 58-unit condo project in North Hollywood at 4900 N. When completed in spring 2005, the Vineland Veterans Memorial Home will include 240 long term care beds, a 32-bed, special-needs unit and a 28-bed, assisted living wing, according to New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs spokesperson G. Norcross, Georgia, USA, said it would close its laminating facility in Vineland, New Jersey, by June 30, moving production from the Vineland plant to other Rock-Tenn facilities. |
